Some Things Never Change

Motionless gray clouds
Float above the evergreens;
Siren wails below.

High in the gray sky
A plane disappears in the clouds;
Below, a crow pecks.

Clover and wild grass
Overpower the hydrant.
(Nature has its way.)

He's looking at me:
The bug eyed man in the sign.
Can he see me here?

Ivy's not complete
Without discarded garbage.
Some things never change.

Beige stands against beige;
Dead wood against dead wood.
There's no sign of life.

Hidden in the bush
Garbage consciously hidden.
(At least consciously.)

Rusty lawn mower;
Man says that it disappears
And then reappears!
