Green upon orange:
Palette of mid afternoon--
Seattle Fall day.
Dappled shadowed walk
Embraces nearby bushes
With its soft dark touch.
Lone quince on the road;
Invitation on the tree:
Pick! Cook! And Enjoy!
Empty patch of dirt
Will soon be the house next door.
Who could imagine?
A loud buzzing sound
Fills up the entire street.
Has it a purpose?
Storm drain and flowers,
Coexisting side by side;
Urban paradox.
